Today we learned that some people believe that the first 12 days of the year will tell you what each months weather will look like. I.e. 3 Jan will show you what March will look like and day 11 will tell you what November will look like. I'm top of that we learned that some places in CR can get up to 500 inches of rain per year, which is quite bit.
We loaded the buses and headed to our next hotel, we stopped at another souvenir shop, then had lunch.
After lunch we boarded boats on the Tarcoles river. Here we were to search for Cocorilos (crocodiles). While we found two in this 1.5 hour boat ride, we did see many other animals such as the Jesus Christ Lizard, blue Heron, black hawk, crane, iguanas, crab, vultures, ducks, red scarlet macaw, and howler monkeys. This time we were much closer to the monkeys to get a good picture of them. Which this river is brackish water because it is fresh river water that mixed with the salt water of the Pacific ocean, which we were able to see. We were also able to see just a few of the final remains of a natural mango forest. All of these forests are 100% protected now because there is only about 5% of the total population left.
We conclude the day by checking into our next hotel and enjoying the beach.
Another update: I also have some nice photos of the sunset and we danced the evening away after dinner. I learned another new dance to the song "Friday Night," which I will take home with me.
